John – running for office is never easy. But we don’t talk enough about how different the challenges can be for candidates like me.
My religion, background, and identity have always been at the forefront of who I am. It’s the drive behind the work I’ve done and why I will always fight to uplift communities like mine.
But as a young Muslim woman, I am often discredited and labeled as not electable. It means I have to work twice as hard in politics because of my identity.
Together, this team has proven that we know how to overcome the barriers stacked against us. It’s supporters like you, giving a few dollars at a time, that breaks down those walls.
But we have to stay consistent – and right now, grassroots donations are slowing. I need your help to close our $2,600 fundraising gap tonight.
I’m running to be a voice for underrepresented communities, John. I need grassroots supporters to help me tackle the barriers in front of me. Will you donate $27 to help me reach my grassroots goal of $2,600, fuel my campaign, and knock down the institutional barriers of running for office?
Young people, especially those from diverse backgrounds, too often face difficulties when running for office because of the establishment’s traditional standards. It makes things as essential as fundraising instantly harder for non-white, young, female candidates.
No matter the obstacles, I’m proud to use my voice for change. But I can only continue this fight with support from grassroots supporters like you, John. Every donation helps fuel our campaign and shows that candidates from diverse backgrounds can successfully run for office.
We aren’t going to let these barriers slow us down, John. Can you chip in $27 right now to join our grassroots team and help us hit our goal of $2,600 before midnight? >>
Thank you,
Nida Allam
