John, the Ride for Rights tour is taking a deliberate route
through the Southeast, following the geographic trajectory of recent
rulings around access to Mifepristone.
Mifepristone is an extremely safe and common form of medication abortion
that’s been prescribed and utilized for decades, so naturally the
anti-choice GOP has been trying to restrict it.
The long and winding court battle to protect access to Mifepristone began
in the ultra-conservative Northern District Court of Texas, continued to
the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans, and made it all the way to SCOTUS in
Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine v. FDA.
Like the case itself, our tour is taking us right through the heart of
deep-red America, which makes it that much more important that we show up
in droves.
