Our children deserve to have every opportunity at their fingertips. That?s why last month I signed a historic bipartisan education budget which made the largest investment in our children in state history. ?With the resources in this budget, we are creating 5,600 free pre-K slots this fall, a big step towards the goal of ?Pre-K for All? by the end of my second term. Parents already know pre-K is the best way to give their kids a leg up early on in life, but affordability can be a challenge. Free pre-K saves families an average of $10,000 a year and gives every child a solid foundation for academic success. There is a straight line between early education and graduation rates, employment, and income.

Let?s keep working to invest in early education to lower costs for families, set our kids up for success, and grow our economy.
