Katie likes to cut the BS—and so do we. So in that spirit, here are 10
quick, important things we want you to know about Katie.

 1. Katie isn’t a career politician. Before being elected to Congress in
2018, Katie was a law profressor and a consumer protection attorney.
 2. Katie is a single, working mom of three school-aged kids—and she
understands the pressures that families face.
 3. Katie is a proud progressive representing a purple district in
Congress. Her message resonates with Democrats, Republicans, and
independent voters alike—and we know from experience that when voters
hear about Katie, we win.
 4. Katie is known for using her whiteboard to hold those with power
accountable. Her questioning has led to real solutions for families,
including a commitment from the Trump Administration in March 2020
that COVID testing would be free for every American. The whiteboard
has also helped explain bills she passed to crack down on corporate
greed and lower costs for families.
 5. Katie is running for U.S. Senate because California needs a warrior in
Washington, and when it comes to protecting California families, Katie
doesn’t back down.
 6. Katie is the only candidate in this race who doesn’t accept corporate
PAC or federal lobbyist money. She believes our elected officials
should work for the people they represent, not their biggest donors
and Wall Street friends.
 7. To fund this campaign, Katie relies on grassroots supporters (like
you!). Our average contribution this year is $27.68.
 8. Winning a statewide race in California is tough, but with the support
of this grassroots team, Katie has won tough elections before—like
when she flipped a historically red seat blue.
 9. Public and internal polling show Katie is ahead in the primary among
voters. That means she can win.
10. Our campaign is falling behind financially to those in this race who
have accepted corporate PAC and lobbyist money. So, Katie is counting
on this grassroots team to fight back.

For a people-powered campaign like ours, we can’t afford to fall behind if
we want to stay competitive in this primary.
