More than 110 candidates and elected officials at multiple levels of government have signed onto our Patients Over Profits pledge, and Florida State Representative Anna V. Eskamani is one of them.
By taking our pledge, Anna refuses to take campaign contributions of $200 or more from executives, lobbyists, and PACs affiliated with the for-profit health care industry — including private insurers, Big Pharma, and private hospitals.
That’s because she knows in order to establish single-payer, guaranteed health care for everyone across the United States, we must stop the flow of money from those who benefit from our current broken system to the campaigns of those in elected office.
Watch the video here to hear from Anna directly about why she’s committed to putting patients over profits. Then, sign up to join one of our Patients Over Profits special volunteer teams to help build our movement however you can in your community!
Anna heard about the Patients Over Profits pledge from union nurses in her area and signed it because she believes:
“In the richest country in the world, we should be doing better. We should be prioritizing the health and wellbeing of our people, not allowing folks to become victims of a broken and greedy system that exploits people for profit.”
We’re moving this campaign into the next phase and putting together special volunteer teams of supporters like you to help us in a variety of different ways. After signing up, we’ll be in touch with more details and everything you need to know!
