Who are your current first and second choices for President? [[link removed]]

Dear John: Did you watch Wednesday night's debate? I watched with Warren supporters uptown -- and if my Twitter feed is any indication, a whole lot of you were eagerly watching too!

But I hope you're not too tired of debates because there's another one coming up soon: I'm participating in a debate between representatives of the Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders presidential campaigns hosted by The Nation on Monday, February 24 at 6:30 PM

I'll be debating for Warren along with Working Families Party National Director Maurice Mitchell. Fordham professor and gubernatorial candidate Zephyr Teachout and Jacobin founding editor Bhaskar Sunkara will debate for Bernie.

You know that I support Elizabeth Warren, but make no mistake: I will enthusiastically support the Democratic nominee against Donald Trump, whoever they are.

But I want to hear from YOU: Among the Democratic candidates still in the race, who do you currently support in 2020? Take our quick poll → [[link removed]]

I'm asking for your first AND second choice -- this process would be MASSIVELY improved if we chose our Democratic nominee with ranked-choice voting, don't you think?

We also saw pointed contrast between the candidates on issues ranging from health care to housing to labor rights -- issues close to my heart that I will be discussing a great deal over the course of my campaign for NYC Comptroller. During the debate, Warren, Sanders, and others shone a bright spotlight on Mike Bloomberg's tenure as mayor of our city, particularly his support of stop-and-frisk.

About 98 percent of pledged delegates are still up for grabs, so anything can still happen.

Let us know who you are currently supporting -- we'll close the poll on Monday and let you know the results! [[link removed]]

But I'll also be there to make the case for progressives to keep our eyes on the prize. The threats to our democracy and our collective future couldn't be more serious, and no matter what happens in 2020 we have a lot of work to do together.

When I take the stage next Monday night, I'll be there to make the case for why I think Elizabeth Warren will make the best President -- my goal is to be at least HALF as effective at making that argument as she was in the Las Vegas debate, which is still a very high bar.

That's my "hot take" for right now -- what's yours? Take our quick 2020 poll now; it'll only take a minute → [[link removed]]

Thank you so much,

-- Brad
