John,
My campaign volunteers are family to me. Like any family, medical problems impact us deeply. Today my Campaign Director, Erin, is having surgery to remove a kidney stone that has been causing her excruciating pain. In her own words: “I would take being in labor over this 100%.”
Being a candidate is incredibly taxing and stressful. Erin is there for me every single day prioritizing my activities, lifting me up when I face cruel or demoralizing comments, and letting me vent when I need someone to listen.
She also keeps things in perspective as we attempt to change not only the policy directions of this country, but also the rules of politics: the rules that have kept women away from positions of power for way too long.
Today, Erin needs our collective healing thoughts for a speedy recovery as we all pick up the pieces in her absence. Our campaign is at a crucial point and it’s all hands on deck with our tireless volunteers. We need to double our fundraising every month between now and the primary, so there’s a lot of pressure.
I’m asking you to donate today in the name of female friendships and to acknowledge Erin’s selfless commitment to our people-powered campaign. Please help us close our $12,000 gap in meeting our February goal!
Thank you for your continued support!
Eva
