Dear Allies,
The PIF Campaign is preparing for a National Teach-In Day on 2/24. Please join us in a collective effort to fight fear with facts and make sure that immigrant communities have accurate, up-to-date information.
Keep reading below for talking points and opportunities this week to learn more.
** TOOLKITS
------------------------------------------------------------
As we shared earlier this week, we have developed a #ProtectFamilies Teach-In Toolkit ([link removed]) which includes sample presentations, (editable) community-facing materials, FAQs, and talking points for you to use. Additional resources will be added as they are finalized this week.
We also have 2 new social media toolkits available — click here to access the Teach-In Social Media Toolkit ([link removed]) and our Public Benefits Awareness Social Media Toolkit ([link removed]) . NILC and CLASP will be leading the PIF Campaign through a Twitterstorm on Monday, Feb 24th at 2pm ET / 11am PT. The goal of the tweetstorm is to raise awareness of the issue, amplify "Know Your Rights" materials, and highlight all the teach-ins taking place across the country.
Please feel free to forward these resources and toolkits to your colleagues and partners!
** WHAT DO YOU HAVE PLANNED?
------------------------------------------------------------
We encourage ALL of our members and allies to think creatively about how your organization will participate in this day of action. Whatever you have planned, we want to hear about it! Please take a moment to fill out this short form ([link removed]) and let us know what your plans are for 2/24. You can also let us know if you’d like help promoting your event.
** LEARN MORE!
------------------------------------------------------------
Do you or your colleagues need a refresher or a first time overview of how the public charge test works today in the U.S. and abroad, and how it may change in the future? If so, please join us on Tuesday, February 25 at 1pm ET/ 10am PT for our second Public Charge 101 webinar of 2020. Experts will describe the different public charge policies currently in place, discuss how and when they may change, and explain what you need to know if you work with immigrant families. We will also cover how you can take action and get more involved with the work of the PIF Campaign.
