US Aid to Ukraine Amounts to $900 Per American Household
- Congressionally approved aid for Ukraine has cost each U.S. household hundreds of dollars. The formal aid packages alone amount to a staggering $113 billion – roughly $900 per American household.
- After returning from their August recess, some members of Congress want to provide more funding for Ukraine in a bill providing hurricane relief for Americans.
- As the war in Ukraine becomes a prolonged conflict, Americans are rightly growing skeptical of sending more money and weapons from our depleted armory with no accountability.

July Inflation Data Reaffirms Economic Concerns
- On Thursday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics released consumer price index (CPI) figures for the month of July, showing 3.2% inflation over the last year, with monthly inflation at 0.2%.
- Downward pressure on prices by the administration’s draining of the strategic petroleum reserve has ceased, causing oil prices to climb and bluntly hitting people at the pump during the busy summer travel season.
- The CPI has risen so much faster than wages under Biden that the average American worker effectively paid a $4.62 an hour inflation tax in July.
- There is no indication we inflation will lower anytime soon because the federal government shows no signs of slowing its breakneck pace of spending and borrowing.

Biden's Opposition to Texas's Border Buoys Is Disgraceful
- The Biden Justice Department recently filed a lawsuit to force Texas to remove a floating barrier on the Rio Grande River. The barrier is about three football fields long and consists of buoys that are four feet in diameter and spin to make climbing them difficult.
- Nothing could be more indicative of the reckless and dangerous hypocrisy of President Joe Biden and his open-borders advisors. It seems as if they would rather see men, women, and children drown trying to traverse the Rio Grande than take any effective steps to close the border and deter illegal crossings.
- In a letter to Biden, Gov. Abbott said, "if you truly care about human life, you must begin enforcing federal immigration laws."
- This marine barrier will detour any unlawful crossings, will prevent drownings, and will prevent human smugglers from bringing their victims across the river.
