John--
One year ago today, we leaped into action and made history when we learned this administration was forcibly separating children from their parents. We weren’t content to just march; we needed to do more, and we did so by putting our bodies on the line for what we believe in. A year later, it’s unthinkable that we are still here. In fact, Trump’s inhumane, ineffective, and cruel immigration policies are getting worse as he threatens mass deportations into the millions on July 4th weekend.
Turning on the news and witnessing the terror and havoc this administration is inflicting on families is hard, but doing nothing is harder. On any given day there are 2000 babies who are in custody at his detention centers sleeping on cold floors crying for their parents. These are our children too. Their mistreatment should keep us all up at night.
Women’s March doesn’t wait to take action. We are taking the fight for justice to the heart of this administration this summer. Will you pitch in $5 monthly to fund this critical work?
People on the border will tell you that this crisis is not new. As the effects of Trump’s disastrous border and climate policies gets worse, so will our immigration crisis, as people flee living conditions that are unbearable. We will only have more need for direct action and feminist policy solutions to these crises.
I said this many times, freedom is not free; we either pay now or pay later. Democracy is worth the cost. Become a $5 monthly member and join the women-led movement to end family separation.
This summer, we will take to the streets to oppose Trump’s poisonous policy and let him know that his time in the Oval Office is almost up. These children and families are counting on us. History is recording. Let’s not choose to be bystanders.
