Let’s chat about the Democratic nomination for president. The race is heating up and Super Tuesday is less than two weeks from today. Soon it’ll be all anyone can talk about.

What does that have to do with us? Well, our fundraising numbers aren’t where they should be, and I’m worried it’s because everyone is paying attention to the presidential election and not state and local races.

That's dangerous, friend. If Democrats don't focus down the ballot, we’re risking a repeat of 2010 -- when Republicans swept statehouses and governor's offices and were able to manipulate the maps for a decade.

We can’t let that happen again. And that’s why I’m asking, with just days to go before Super Tuesday consumes everyone's attention: Will you pitch in to help us make the last year before redistricting our strongest yet?

Of course, what happens at the top of the ticket is critical. But the next decade is too important to let slip away because we weren't focused on state and local races.

Our work this year is tougher than ever after an unfavorable Supreme Court decision in 2019. On top of that, we’re facing Republican voter suppression, Trump’s huge fundraising numbers (which will trickle to down-ballot races), and GOP power players focused on rigging the maps again.

If we stick to our six-year plan, we can crush Republican gerrymandering in 2021. But that’s going to take hitting our goals -- which means closing our fundraising gap as soon as possible. So here's the part where I ask you for money:

What you do right now will make the difference between a decade of progress and a decade of Republican obstruction. Will you give right now to help us fight our hardest to win in the states and secure fair maps in 2021?
