National Survey: Families Faced Financial Strain When Expanded CTC Expired
|
CLASP, in partnership with several organizations, engaged Ipsos to conduct a national survey of families in the United States and Puerto Rico who received the expanded Child Tax Credit (CTC) in 2021. We learned that once the monthly payments ended in 2022, families had a harder time affording essentials like bills and food, leading to more financial stress and higher levels of food hardship—all of which can be harmful to children.

Evaluation of New Deal for Youth
|
The New Deal for Youth (ND4Y)’s Evaluation Strategy group partnered with Praxis Institute on a year-long research cycle to evaluate the impact of ND4Y and inform future ND4Y strategies.

|
Multiple states noted the challenge of recruiting and training diverse peer support specialists. Peers tend to be older, whiter, and represent cisgender, heterosexual, hegemonic views. This means people of color and younger people are less likely to find true peer support. In this new report, CLASP provides a policy framework for youth peer support.

August 9: CLASP consultant Noel Tieszen spoke at “The Continuing Struggle for Jobs,” a virtual panel discussion hosted by the Center for Economic and Policy Research, which explored the problem of joblessness and proposed solutions.

August 2: CLASP celebrated 20 years of CLASP’s Youth Policy Team with an in-person and virtual audience of more than 100 CLASP alumni, partners, and current staff—including people spanning the entirety of the Youth Policy Team’s existence.
