Sharice has been working hard in Congress to deliver for Kansas families, and we wanted to give you a few updates from her work in Washington and right here in Kansas’ 3rd district.
Expanding rural broadband: At a Small Business Committee hearing, Sharice highlighted the importance of investing in rural broadband here in Kansas and across the nation. Sharice has led bipartisan legislation to invest in rural broadband so that families and businesses in rural Kansas can access high-speed internet.
Creating jobs: Sharice announced that Kansas’ 3rd district has created more clean energy jobs than any other congressional district nationwide, thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act passed last year. Sharice was the only member of Kansas’ congressional delegation to vote for this critical legislation to create jobs, lower costs, and fight the climate crisis.
Bipartisan wins for Kansas: Sharice wrote a guest column in the Kansas City Star to highlight the accomplishments of the bipartisan Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization, including two of Sharice’s amendments which will improve safety outcomes and invest in modernizing control towers. Read Sharice’s guest column here.
Delivering for veterans: Sharice introduced legislation to support veteran small business owners and entrepreneurs. This bipartisan legislation was unanimously approved by the House Small Business Committee because our veterans deserve to be supported when they complete their service.
Fighting the fentanyl crisis: Sharice joined local leaders at Shawnee Mission West to discuss the importance of addressing the fentanyl crisis and protecting everyone in our communities, especially young people. As the new school year begins, Sharice will continue working with local, state, and federal leaders to ensure this crisis is addressed.
Investing in public safety: Sharice joined the Overland Park Police Department for a tour and ride-along with a police officer. As a daughter of a law enforcement officer, Sharice knows the importance of supporting our local law enforcement so folks in our community feel safe and protected.
And this is just some of what’s been going on with Team Sharice.
