I am thrilled and proud to announce Brady’s endorsement of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for reelection.

President Biden is a proven gun violence prevention champion and with our country on track for its deadliest year of gun violence, his continued leadership could not be more essential. That’s why we’re announcing our endorsement today as we gear up for a fight to protect America from a gun lobby-backed presidency.

We find our nation in a grave situation, where gun violence has become the leading cause of death for children in our country and over 430 mass shootings have happened already this year, in desperate need of a leader who will stand up to the gun lobby and do everything in their power to end the gun violence epidemic.

Joe Biden is that leader.

In his term so far, President Biden has signed into law the most consequential piece of gun violence prevention legislation in 30 years, implemented executive actions to address the proliferation of ghost guns and invest in community violence intervention, appointed the first ATF Director in seven years, and remained steadfast in his call for a ban on assault weapons.

His presidency builds on a legacy of gun violence prevention, having worked with Brady as a senator to pass Brady Background Checks and an assault weapons ban. He’s proven his commitment to lifesaving change time and again and we know that he will continue his fight if reelected.

But, John, the road ahead won’t be easy. We’ll be up against a gun lobby who will pour millions into electing a president that will do their deadly bidding. That’s why we’re endorsing the Biden-Harris reelection ticket early and getting to work to galvanize and mobilize gun violence prevention activists across the country.

This election will be the difference between building on the progress we’ve made against the gun violence epidemic and letting the gun lobby take control. Brady is going to fight tooth and nail to reelect President Biden and we need every activist in the fight with us.
