CF Foundation Announces New Members of Board of Trustees

New Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Prevention Available for Infants

The CDC recommends the use of a
long-acting monoclonal antibody, nirsevimab (Beyfortus™) to protect young children from respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) ([link removed]). Given by a single intramuscular injection, nirsevimab is recommended for infants less than 8 months who are born during -- or entering -- their first RSV season, and in children up to 24 months old who remain vulnerable to severe RSV through their second RSV season. Nirsevimab has been shown to decrease the risk of hospitalization and health care visits for RSV in infants by about 80%.

Social Security Administration Conducting Disability Reviews
