I have a lot of important things to share with you today, but I’ll try to keep this message as brief as possible. As you know, we’re gearing up for some pretty tough races, and I want to keep you as up-to-date as possible. Here are four things you need to know right now:
1. The Polls are Out
The first polls for our biggest races in states like Montana, Ohio, and Wisconsin are being released right now — and they’re statistically tied. I know it seems like Election Day is far away, but this is an early warning sign. We need to get vulnerable Democrats like Jon Tester, Jacky Rosen, and Tammy Baldwin ahead in these polls, and fast.
2. The GOP Can Outspend Us
We’ve seen it before: Mitch McConnell has a LOT of money to spend — and he won’t hesitate to use it. During the 2022 midterm elections, the GOP spent almost twice as much money on fundraising as Democrats did. Republican candidates, party committees, PACs, and joint fundraising committees spent more than $526.8 million on fundraising. That’s what we’re up against this election, too.
3. It Only Takes 2 Seats
For the GOP to win back the Senate majority, they only have to flip two contested Senate seats. That’s way too close for comfort, so we need to fight hard in every seat to Defend the Senate.
4. Fundraising Isn’t Looking Great
Online fundraising is trending downward across the board — we aren’t on track to hit the goals we’ve made for ourselves ahead of the 2024 election season. We need your help to get set up for success this cycle.
