Dear john,
Today, I announced $963,000 in Congressionally directed funding for new police cruisers in Guadalupe County. The new vehicles will be equipped with improved handling features, GPS, and communications systems to help officers as they respond to emergency calls.
The funds will provide police cruisers for several cities within Guadalupe County, including:
- Cibolo;
- Marion;
- New Berlin;
- New Braunfels;
- Santa Clara;
- Schertz; and,
- Selma.
Since 2010, the population of Guadalupe County has grown by 40%, and there is a pressing need for police cruisers. Ultimately, the new vehicles will equip local law enforcement with the necessary resources to maintain peace and counter criminal activity, including drug trafficking, human smuggling, and violent crimes.
Thank you to Guadalupe County Judge Kyle Kutscher and Mayors Mark Allen of Cibolo, Victor Contreras of Marion, Walt Williams of New Berlin, Rusty Brockman of New Braunfels, Jeff Hunt of Santa Clara, Ralph Gutierrez of Schertz, and Tom Daly of Selma for working with me to uphold law and order across Guadalupe County. To our police officers, thank you for your service!
