Over 100 labor and community organizations in Texas have signed a letter demanding Governor Abbott add life saving, emergency statewide heat protections to the upcoming special session.

Multiple workers have died from heat exposure in just the past few months alone. On September 1st, HB 2127 will undo the only existing rest break requirements workers have in Texas. These deaths were all preventable, and if Gov. Abbott does not act now, more workers will die from heat exposure.
