Dear John,
Healthcare access has always been one of my top priorities. It’s the right of every Virginian to have the care they need. It’s been one of the cornerstones of my work in the Assembly, where I pushed to get more COVID vaccination doses for Suffolk and Chesapeake, helped insure that all Medicaid recipients had access to dental care, and have supported adequate staffing measures for mental healthcare facilities.
But now we’re at the crux of an issue that is close to all our hearts: Maternal mortality. We’re seeing reams of solid evidence that denying women the right to choose is damaging maternal health.* And, unfortunately, it’s women of color who suffer the most. As your Senator, I intend to fight to make sure that mothers-to-be have the right to the healthcare they need. Because it’s the right thing to do.
It pains me that those who have the least are impacted the most when it comes to healthcare outcomes. My work is based in the #SpiritofService , which clearly says that we cannot leave the least of us behind.
Help me make this right by getting into the spirit and giving $25 now. [[link removed]]
