Team, I am still not over what happened in Ohio earlier this week.

When I heard the news that anti-choice politicians’ attempt to block voters from enshrining abortion rights in the state constitution LOST – and by a HUGE margin no less – I got pretty emotional.

The details of Issue 1, the ballot measure that failed, are a little complex, but the basics are this: After the Supreme Court struck down Roe last summer, pro-choice activists got to work passing abortion protections at the state level. Across the country last year, the 6 times voters had a chance to weigh in, they voted FOR abortion rights – including in Kentucky, Montana, Kansas, and Michigan.

Now, Ohio is state #7.

What we learned from last year, and what we are seeing in Ohio, is that red, blue, or purple – folks everywhere are fed up with Republican attacks on our freedom to control our own bodies. And they are fighting BACK.

My opponent, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, is another anti-choice extremist Republican. He just recently voted to block service members from accessing abortion care.

But beating him won't be easy. We'll need to raise millions of dollars, and to do that, I'm relying on grassroots donors – not corporate PACs – to fuel this campaign.

If you want to show that Pennsylvanians will fight just as hard (heck, harder!) for our access to abortion as Ohio did, please chip in your first donation of $5 – or whatever you can afford – to send me to the House where I promise I will be a pro-choice champion.
