Before we get started, and I go any further, I’d just like to take a moment to introduce myself and thank you for your dedication to preserving the America we all know and love. It powers me and Conservatives like Congressman Kevin Hern to fight for hard-working Americans nationwide. You can support us here. >> I grew up in a Rust Belt town, a community where people worked hard and played by the rules. That used to be enough to mean a middle class life. As I got older, I realized that the jobs and economic opportunities that built the great American middle class were fading away, and it left the community around me grasping for hope. I won’t sugarcoat it. My home life had challenges. There was a fair share of turbulence in my home as a kid, with my dad leaving home when I was young and my mother struggling with drug addiction her entire life. Fortunately, I had someone who helped me turn everything around and keep me in line. That person was my Mamaw (my grandmother). Mamaw taught me tough love, discipline, and that the world wouldn’t just hand you what you wanted. She kept me on the straight and narrow and focused through her dedication to faith, family, and the hope of a better life that lay ahead. I went on to serve my country in the Iraq War as a proud Marine, graduated from The Ohio State University, received my law degree from Yale Law School, and wrote a bestselling book, Hillbilly Elegy. I started a business and was lucky enough to help put a lot of people to work. I wanted to do more. I wanted to give back to my state and my country. It’s an honor to serve and it’s so important that we keep like-minded patriots in Washington. Our work is far from over.
