Our 2022 Annual Report is here!

I am thrilled to share Wild Salmon Center’s 2022 Annual Report, highlighting our work over the past year, and celebrating the hard-won victories we’ve achieved for wild salmon and steelhead strongholds across the Pacific Rim. [link removed]

This year, the Environmental Protection Agency finally blocked the Pebble Mine in Alaska. Since 2012, WSC and our partners each played a vital role in the campaign to safeguard Bristol Bay—one of the planet’s greatest wild salmon watersheds.

It took more than a decade to stop Pebble, and it will take similar commitment to secure the health of other strongholds across the North Pacific. Over our 31-year history, WSC has remained focused, relying on science and a clear vision for what it will take to win in each watershed where we work. For us, true victory is gaining durable protections for wild salmon and steelhead populations and the rivers that sustain them.

WSC and our partners have already prevented significant ecological damage within almost all of the strongholds where we work. We have defeated proposals for hard rock mining, hydroelectric dams, fish hatcheries, and more. Based on what we’ve learned, we’re positioning ourselves to secure the multidecadal health of these salmon ecosystems.

We know what victory will look like, and we’ll get there because of friends and donors like you. I hope you share our pride in the progress WSC has made for the conservation of the Pacific Rim’s miraculous wild fish and their home rivers.

Thank you,
Guido Rahr
President and Chief Executive
