Wildfires in Hawaii claim 36 lives.

Wildfires are ripping through Hawaii’s island of Maui — killing 36, prompting evacuations, injuring several people, destroying homes and businesses in a historic town, and even causing some to run into the water to escape the flames. 

Emergency workers are continuing to look for survivors.

Victory for abortion rights: Ohio voters reject Issue 1

In a move celebrated by abortion rights activists, Ohio voters rejected a Republican-supported motion to make it difficult to change the state’s constitution. The measure was seen as an attempt to derail a planned referendum to enshrine abortion rights in the state’s constitution.

BILL: Should we limit AI in the work environment? - The No Robot Bosses Act - S.2419

The bill targets AI by protecting workers from "robot bosses." It would prevent employers from relying solely on automated systems in hiring decisions and compel employers to maintain human oversight of AI in the workplace.

Trump's Twitter searched in 2020 election probe

Jack Smith's prosecutors obtained a search warrant in Jan. for Trump's Twitter account in their investigation into the attempt to overturn the 2020 election. This is the first publicly known example of a prosecutor directly searching Trump's communications.
