1) You Say You Want A Revolution
What China needs more than anything else is a revolt among the young generation of workers. President Xi and the communist tyrants must be exiled and political freedom needs to reign.

This chart from the New York Times shows one in five 16- to 24-year-olds unemployed may presage a rebellion against the communist oligarchy in Beijing.

History shows that young people without jobs can generate a political tinderbox.

As our friend Mark Skousen, professor of Economics at Chapman University and the organizer of the FreedomFest conference, reminds us: “Communism can never be stable. Revolution is inevitable. The question is, whether it will be violent or not.”

2) The Working-Class Republican Party
We’ve made this point many times in the Hotline: once upon a time the Republicans were the party of the rich and the Democrats the party of working-class Americans. Now the parties’ bases have flipped. Republicans tend to dominate blue-collar America and Dems are the party of the elites.

Now Democrat Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, who has represented her Toledo, Ohio district in Congress for 40 years, is warning her party that they are rapidly losing the support of Main Street and mainstream America. This chart from Rep. Kaptur proves our/her point.

It shows that Democrats now represent 19 of the top 25 highest-earning districts, including six in California and four around the Washington D.C. Beltway. Republicans represent a narrow majority of the lowest 25 districts by income.

[link removed]
She asks a crucial question: “How is it possible that Republicans are representing the majority of people who struggle? How is that possible?”

Matt Taibbi, a former contributing editor of Rolling Stone who has broken with the loony left, says liberal elites now “have a habit of believing things ordinary people instinctively find ridiculous…Their ‘experts’ even gather in places like Davos to concoct Swiftian parodies of upper-class condescension, like the World Economic Forum’s amazing ‘Let them eat bugs!’ plan.”

3) Jail Time for Fauci?

[link removed]
Kudos to Senator Rand Paul for asking the US Attorney from Washington DC to prosecute Anthony Fauci for lying to Congress under oath. That is called perjury.

Rand seems to have an open-and-shut case: Fauci repeatedly lied under oath about funding gain of function research and his role in orchestrating a coverup of the very real possibility that the SARS-CoV2 virus was a result of that research. Gain of function research was prohibited by law and it appears Fauci and others flagrantly and knowingly disregarded that law.

Here’s the bad news. The US Attorney for DC is Matthew Graves. Who is he? He is best known for an astonishing 67% non-prosecution rate in a city where crime is rampant and the National Guard has been called in to restore order.

[link removed]
The odds that Graves prosecutes Fauci are about as high as the chances that Donald Trump could get a fair trial in DC. That is zero.

4) US Postal Service Adds 125,000 Full-Time Employees
Only in government would an agency whose business is shrinking every day (thanks to email and digital communications) and with net losses of $87 billion in recent years embark on a hiring binge.

According to economist Ed Hudgins:

Postmaster DeJoy explained that “We have stabilized our work force by converting over 125,000 employees to full time status, thus increasing employee availability and reducing overtime requirements.”

“Stabilized?”

He should say “Locked in as a permanent expense” since it will be virtually impossible to lay off or fire permanent unionized employees when economic, or technological conditions change. Of note, over the past decade, even with new technologies and attempted reforms, labor costs have continued to account for over 70 percent of USPS expenses.”

Let’s face it, the Postal Service is as outdated as the typewriter or the old Pony Express. Privatize it and sell off its assets to the highest bidder and use the money to retire some of the national debt.

[link removed]
The only other option — and the more likely one — is that the Postal Service becomes the next recipient of a $100 billion-plus taxpayer bailout.

5) It’s Now Official: Soccer Is the World’s Most Boring Sport
Congratulations to the U.S. Women’s World Cup team for reaffirming soccer’s status as the most boring sport ever invented. The match against Sweden went on for two hours with the girls sprinting around the field here there and everywhere, but not a single goal was scored. By either team. Not one. Zero to zero. Until the U.S. lost in a penalty shootout.

It was as thrilling as watching paint dry. Actually less so. At least after two hours, paint DOES dry.

There were no goals scored in the U.S. team’s previous match as well and in the game before that, the U.S. suddenly went on a scoring spree with ONE goal. A real offensive juggernaut. Can someone please introduce the west coast offense to soccer?

One might think that the international soccer gods would figure out some way to ensure scoring and discourage stalling as teams spend half the game passing the ball backwards toward their own goal in retreat. If wars were fought like this World War 2 would still be going on.

What to do? Maybe double the size of the goal. Get rid of the absurd offsides rule which makes it nearly impossible to score a goal. In overtime, keep reducing the number of players on the field until someone scores a goal rather than the absurdity of deciding the outcome with penalty kicks. (Isn’t this supposed to be a TEAM sport?)

In the meantime, if you want to be entertained by soccer, just watch Ted Lasso on Apple TV.
