Dear Friend of Israel,

Textbooks produced by the U.N.’s Palestinian refugee agency contain incitement to violence against Israel and hatred of Jews.

Despite promises to remove such content, reports have found that the curriculum for Palestinian schools published by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) continues to include:

♦ Grammar exercises where students write sentences about "Jihad warriors" and commitment to "liberate Palestine"

♦ A poem that teaches students that to die as a martyr by killing Israelis is a "hobby"

♦ Geography lessons where Israel is labeled as "modern-day Palestine" and students are given exercises of naming Israeli cities as Palestinian

We must continue to work with America's leaders to stand against violent incitement that makes peace between Israelis and Palestinians harder to achieve.

Today, AIPAC is working with Congress in support of a bipartisan bill in the House—the Peace and Tolerance in Palestinian Education Act—that would establish Congress’ position that inciteful and violent content has not yet been sufficiently eliminated from Palestinian textbooks.

The bill would require the State Department to report regularly on U.N. curricula used in Palestinian schools, including detailing whether these materials incite violence, and on what the United States is doing to encourage peace and tolerance in Palestinian education.

Your support ensures we have the resources needed to work with Congress to advance this legislation as well as other initiatives to educate America's leaders about other dangers facing the Jewish state.
