* Albion Lawrenceville, a development that would add 300 apartments to Upper Lawrenceville, is seeking final approval from Pittsburgh's Planning Commission at its Sept. 5 meeting ([link removed]) . The vice president of development for Albion Residential made it clear that maintaining a strong relationship with the Lawrenceville community is integral to the company’s plans.
* While Allegheny County has enacted programs like sheriff’s sales to tackle the vacany problem in municipalities, most have fallen flat. Wilkinsburg leaders believe that calls for a new system of delinquent tax collection and an infusion of money into its fledgling land bank could bring change to the issue ([link removed]) .
