Friend — Ed is joining with fellow progressives in the Senate to call on the DOJ to finally take action against the fossil fuel industry for misleading the public and profiting off the climate crisis.

For years now, companies like ExxonMobil and Shell have engaged in behavior that has clearly violated federal racketeering laws, truth in advertising laws, consumer protection laws, and potentially more. It’s time for the DOJ to step in and seek justice for the public and our planet.

Our campaign has worked to grow the movement for clean energy and a Green New Deal because we know these companies just don’t care to do the right thing. They will do anything to continue making a profit, even while the planet burns.

It’s up to us to do everything we can to hold these companies accountable and build on the progress we’ve made to invest in green jobs, infrastructure, and more. It’s up to us to fight — together — for the livable future we deserve.

In solidarity,

Team Markey
