Girls Not Brides hosted an official side event exclusively for our members, partners and supporters. This event was a space for discussion, learning, and collaboration, around specific topics relevant to ending child marriage as chosen by the end child marriage community.

I was delighted to attend the Women Deliver 2023 Conference on 17-20 July 2023 in Kigali, alongside representatives from the Girls Not Brides Secretariat and 14 sponsored members from across Africa, Asia and Latin America & the Caribbean. It was exciting to be in the midst of some of the most passionate and influential people working to end gender inequality. Here are my personal 5 top moments.

Africa – Girls Not Brides Malawi co-creation workshop, Tanzania Ending Child Marriage Network (TECMN) co-creation workshop 

Asia – Girls Not Brides Rajasthan State Partnership co-creation workshop, Girls Not Brides Nepal (Balika Dulahi Hoinan) co-creation workshop, Jharkhand State partnership co-creation workshops 

Latin America and the Caribbean – Girls Not Brides will host a Regional Convening with the LAC membership to construct a collaborative strategy and approach to end child marriages in the region. 

We are also preparing for the biggest Latin-American and The Caribbean Feminist Convening (EFLAC 2023) in November, if you are a young activist from LAC and you are interested in participating, apply for our sponsorship!
