John,
One year ago today, President Biden signed the CHIPS & Science Act into law, increasing the number of good-paying manufacturing jobs here in the United States.
The CHIPS & Science Act created jobs. But it also created job opportunities, educational programs, and a path to bring students of different backgrounds into a new American workforce that will develop and build future technologies. Hank’s provision to provide grants to HBCUs was an important part of the bill, promising to diversify and strengthen our workforce.

But there’s more to celebrate on this one-year anniversary, John. The passage of the CHIPS & Science Act kicked off one of the most transformational legislative months in American history. Soon to follow would be the PACT Act and the Inflation Reduction Act.
In fact, the 117th Congress — led by slim Democratic majorities in both houses of Congress — was recognized by many historians as the most productive Congress in more than half a century, passing the first gun safety reform in decades, the largest ever investment in battling climate change, and a comprehensive infrastructure law.
But the MAGA GOP is trying everyday to undo the progress that Democrats made last Congress. If Republicans secure another two years of holding the Speaker’s gavel — or if they win the presidency — they’ll be well positioned to take us backwards.
Georgia is the national ground zero on both fronts.
Will you please make a contribution to help fuel our voter turnout efforts? Republicans are already organizing across Georgia and are trying to suppress the vote here in the 4th District. We need all the help we can get to ensure we can win →
