As someone who’s spent nearly half a century electing Democrats and winning tough elections across the country, let me tell ya:

I think overlooking Pennsylvania in our battle to hold Democrats’ Senate majority is about as smart as a lead parachute. Let me say more…
Listen, if you think Pennsylvania is a safe blue state, I envy ya! Personally, I sure can’t forget that Donald Trump won the Commonwealth on Election Night in 2016.
Now it’s true that we’ve had some big victories since then. But look closer under the hood, and you’ll see challenges like:
- Down-ballot Dems losing winnable races
- Razor-thin margins in rural counties
- A fight to turnout voters in hubs like Philadelphia
As someone who’s spent nearly half a century electing Democrats and winning tough elections across the country, including in the Keystone State, let me assure you: Pennsylvania is as competitive a battleground as it ever was.
I’m urgently asking folks today: Will you chip in $5 or more to Bob Casey? We CANNOT take Pennsylvania’s Senate seat for granted!

Seriously — I’m worried folks don’t realize just how bad we need to gin up major grassroots resources to fight back tooth and nail in Pennsylvania.
Not only is this one of the most competitive races of 2024, Mitch McConnell and national Republicans are recruiting a mega-millionaire hedge fund guy who can start spending HUGE sums of his own money the minute he jumps into the race.
(And don’t forget the GOP super PACs who will have this guy’s back and fund plenty of nasty attack ads against Bob…)
The fact is, if we don’t rally around Bob Casey early in this race, we’re toast. And truthfully I think we need to see a LOT more grassroots donations than we have to date.
So I’ll ask one more time: Will you ensure we don’t take Pennsylvania for granted and chip in $5 or any amount to defend Bob Casey and our blue Senate majority?
