Here are some updates.
* Ohio voters overwhelmingly rejected ([link removed]) conservative-backed Issue 1 yesterday, a measure designed to make it more difficult for voters to amend the state constitution ahead of a crucial vote on an abortion amendment this November.
* Civil rights groups filed ([link removed]) a lawsuit ([link removed]) arguing that Tennessee's congressional and state Senate maps are racially gerrymandered and intentionally discriminate against Black and Brown voters in violation of the U.S. Constitution.
* Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has suspended ([link removed]) Orlando-area prosecutor Monique Worrell (D). This is the second time that DeSantis has removed an elected local Democratic state attorney from office, and Worrell was the only Black female state attorney in Florida. She has vowed to seek reelection next year.
* Oregon lawmakers with 10 or more unexcused absences during the 2023 legislative session will not be allowed to run again in 2024, according to a directive ([link removed]) from the Oregon secretary of state. This stems from a ballot measure passed by voters in 2022 intended to hold legislators accountable.
* A federal court in Idaho held a hearing today in a lawsuit ([link removed]) challenging two new laws that removed student ID cards as acceptable forms of voter ID and imposed strict residency and ID requirements for voter registration.
