Yesterday, Ohio united to defeat Issue 1 and preserve the power of the people. This victory reflects our collective efforts to make our voices heard and protect our fundamental freedom to determine our own future.

So many of you answered the call when extremist Republicans in Columbus attempted to thwart the power of voters by resurrecting an August special election to pass Issue 1. 

Ohioans saw right through it, and I can’t thank each of you enough. 

To all of you who sent in contributions, knocked on doors, made phone calls, volunteered for text banks, and voted, THANK YOU for your efforts. Democracy prevailed yesterday. 

We will enjoy this moment today, but not lose sight of what’s still to come this November. The work continues.
