Last week, in light of former President Donald Trump’s third indictment on criminal charges, I called on my likely Republican opponent Scott Baugh to publicly condemn Trump.

His response? Radio silence.

This is all we need to know: Someone who refuses to distance themselves from a dangerous, treasonous figure like Trump is not fit to lead.

It should be a no-brainer to condemn someone who is charged with orchestrating a national effort to overthrow an election he knew to be valid. So why won’t Scott Baugh comment?

What’s even more troubling is that polling still shows Trump leading the field of Republican presidential candidates, even after his latest indictment. Now, more than ever, we need principled leaders who will take a stand against threats to our democracy.
