John, did you see what happened in Ohio last night?
In a resounding victory against election-rigging, Ohio voters overwhelmingly rejected a Republican ballot proposal that would have undercut a hugely popular abortion rights measure set to appear on the ballot this November.
To the surprise of Republican legislators who were counting on a low turnout summer election, over 3 million Ohio voters turned out to the polls and defeated the measure by almost 15 points.
What these results tell us is that together, we are redefining what is possible.
We can beat GOP mega-donors who bankroll efforts to corrupt our democracy. We can turn out voters in numbers we have never seen before. And this November, we can make Ohio the fourth state in U.S. history to enshrine abortion rights in their state constitution — and keep up the fight for abortion rights everywhere.
There are 89 days until Election Day, and Working Families Party organizers and members are going to be spending each and every one of them running full speed to reach as many voters as possible in Ohio and across the country so we can codify, protect, and expand abortion rights. Will you chip in $10 or more to fuel our work?

The Ohio Republican proposal, known as Issue 1, would have raised the threshold for voters to pass ballot initiatives and state constitutional amendments from a simple majority to sixty percent.
It was introduced as part of a broader national effort by the GOP’s anti-abortion minority to nullify direct democracy after a pro-choice majority in six states, including red ones such as Kansas and Kentucky, voted to protect or establish a right to abortion in their constitutions last year.
Across the country, Republican-controlled legislatures in states like Ohio are frantically working to gerrymander maps to suppress voters and passing laws to restrict voting rights.
Why? Because they know they can't win a fair vote on issues like abortion unless they erode our democratic systems for their corruption.
Now, with Issue 1 in the dustbin, we know they will only double down on their efforts to stop Ohio voters from amending their state constitution to include abortion rights this November.
After last night’s victory, we know we have the majority on our side, John. Will you rush a contribution of $10 or more to help us keep up the momentum in Ohio and across the country? Your donation — of any amount — will help us reach voters between now and November 7th.
In solidarity,
