The results are finally in—and democracy is still alive and well in Ohio.

Issue 1, a desperate gambit by a radical conservative minority to raise the threshold for amending the Ohio state constitution, was engineered by out of state dark money interests to do one thing: thwart the majority’s will to protect abortion rights in Ohio next November.

I am elated and so proud that this cynical strategy did not succeed, in part because campaigns like ours were in the trenches canvassing at events, farmers markets, and going door to door to expose this issue for what it is and turn out our voters.

Weeks ago, my team and I asked you for your support so that we could continue doing all that we could to make sure that Issue 1 failed when it came before the voters. The response we received from supporters like you, John, was incredible—it is in no small part due to your help that we were able to knock on so many doors to help push the No on Issue 1 vote over the line.

But while last night's victory is worth celebrating, we can’t allow ourselves to get complacent now. The real fight is just beginning; and now it is time to ratchet up the pressure on corrupt Jim Jordan and fight for a win on abortion rights AND unseat Jim Jordan this election. I need your help now more than ever—can you celebrate this incredible win and help me ride the momentum of this vote to victory with a contribution of $25 or more today?

It is beyond pathetic to try and change the rules because you know that under a fair democratic system, your unpopular policies will fail.

Today, we can take a moment to celebrate but it is imperative that we get back to work. Thank you for helping make this victory possible!
