Economic Democracy Weekly

Today’s Economic Democracy Weekly focuses on the hard work of organizing. We begin with two articles from our summer magazine issue. The first, by leaders at the US Federation of Worker Cooperatives, shows us how effective advocacy builds and maintains grassroots coalitions, engages in strategic partnerships, and leverages those for change. The second tells us three stories of organizations in the environmental, agricultural, and worker co-op sectors embracing a post-capitalist framework. Next, the fifth article in our ongoing series “Owning the Economy: Stories from Latinx Communities” features the Latinx residents in San Francisco protecting the city from gentrification and displacement. Finally, we feature a webinar clip of Anneke Dunbar-Gronke on how the law is a powerful tool, but the real lever of change is the hard work of organizing.
