SAM on the Hill

Congress is out for the August recess, meaning no federal legislation will advance this month. However, even though Members are home in their districts, we expect behind-the-scenes staff-level negotiations to continue ahead of a likely committee markup on the SAFE Banking Act this fall. Despite disagreements between Democrats and Republicans, this bill could still advance to a floor vote Your Senators need to hear from you, please contact your Senators and tell them to oppose the SAFE Banking Act.

Take Action

CNN aired the latest installment of Dr. Sanjay Gupta’s pro-marijuana series, Weed, “Weed 7: A Senior Moment,” on Sunday, August 6th on The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper.

Through this series, CNN has continued to advance the narrative that marijuana is a medicine.

Stat of the Month:
