Here are some updates.
* There’s a special election ([link removed]) in Ohio today. If you’re an Ohio voter and haven’t cast your ballot, polls are open ([link removed]) until 7:30 pm! On the ballot is a measure that would make it harder for voters to amend the state constitution. Vote NO on Issue 1 to protect democracy!
+ It is also Primary Day in Mississippi. There are multiple offices on the ballot ([link removed]) . Polls are open ([link removed]) until 7:00 pm.
* The Republican National Committee and the Wisconsin Republican Party asked ([link removed]) to join a lawsuit filed challenging several restrictive absentee voting rules in Wisconsin, including the state's complete ban on drop boxes. The parties seek to defend these rules.
* A hearing ([link removed]) on a protective order motion in Trump's 2020 election subversion case will be held no later than Friday. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) wants to prevent Trump from sharing sensitive material about the case, specifically on social media; Trump counters that the DOJ is stifling his free speech.
* Trial in a federal lawsuit challenging ([link removed]) Florida's congressional map has been rescheduled to Sept. 26. The lawsuit argues that Gov. Ron DeSantis' (R) map intentionally discriminates against Black Floridians and violates the 14th and 15th Amendments.
Here’s what’s coming up tomorrow.
* In Idaho, there is a hearing ([link removed]) in a federal lawsuit challenging a newly enacted voter suppression law that eliminates the use of a student ID as an acceptable form of identification for in-person voting.
