FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Fonk Road Closure Extended until 6:30 PM Tonight

Fonk Road, south of Beaver Lake in Mount Vernon, will be closed this evening until approximately 6:30 PM to allow for construction workers to finish reconnecting the road and restoring access to traffic.

The new culvert pipe has been installed today, but Fonk Road will still be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, to allow for final shoulder dressing and restoration to be completed. 

We ask the public to please steer clear of the construction zone while the access area is closed so the repairs can be finished as soon as possible. Your patience is appreciated while the road crew finishes a long construction day.
