When I was a little girl, my parents put me on a plane from Iran to the United States to escape religious persecution because we were Jewish.

Now, I’m a mother of two, a former two-term New York State Senator, and a candidate for Congress running against George Santos.

Everyone knows that my opponent is a liar. But not everyone knows that our district voted for Joe Biden in 2020, so we have a really good chance to defeat him in 2024 and deliver a Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

And not everyone knows that the folks in my district do NOT agree with Santos’ support for MAGA and Donald Trump, or with his support for assault rifles, taking away women’s reproductive rights, and false claims that the 2020 election was “stolen.”
