Our union is made up of all kinds of people. Every AFSCME member is different. That’s what makes us so vibrant and strong.
No matter who you are or what you do, you can be Union. Click here to watch!
The union difference is as important as ever. Together, we build power in numbers to make a difference for ourselves, our families and our communities.
But you don’t have to check your individuality at the door to be a part of the AFSCME family. Solidarity does not mean conformity. It takes all kinds. We’ve got pet lovers and pickleball players. Some of us like country music, others are hip hop fans.
We are all unique – different genders, races and religions; different customs, habits and hobbies. Definitely all different kinds of jobs. And even different political views.
But we are united in the belief that our work has dignity and it deserves respect. We come together to fight for better wages and working conditions, to get the rights and freedoms we deserve.

You can be you, and you can be in a union!
