Virginia is the South’s final hope to protect access to abortion.

Every other Southern state has either banned or rolled back access to reproductive health care. I just read an article talking about how abortion providers in Virginia are feeling the strain as patients from neighboring states like Georgia and Mississippi are traveling to the Commonwealth to get their procedures. But regardless of the stress caused by the influx of patients, these providers know that residents from Southern states are relying on the Commonwealth to safeguard abortion access.

Right now, until my colleagues and I in the Senate can codify Roe v. Wade into law, our only option is to stop Republicans from taking control of the General Assembly and enacting a 15-week abortion ban – or worse.
