Ellie here – Suzanne's campaign manager – with an update!
You might be wondering: Why does Suzanne's campaign need to fundraise right now — it's not even an election year?
Fair question! Although election day is more than a year away, Congressional campaigns need to fundraise in non-election years to remain strong and ready to hit the ground running in 2024. That means we need enough funds to support campaign staff, organize activities, and communicate with voters.
I'll get into the specifics in a moment, but first, I have to ask: Will you make a contribution and help fuel our campaign?

Here's what Team Bonamici is doing in 2023:
1. Grassroots Organizing: Early grassroots organizing has long-term benefits. Investing in building and maintaining relationships with local activists and community organizations helps campaigns stay connected with constituents and important local movements.
2. Community Engagement: By fundraising during non-election years, campaigns can hold community events and outreach initiatives. Engaging with constituents regularly fosters a sense of trust and accountability, making it more likely for voters to support the candidate during elections.
3. Investing in Technology: Items 1 & 2 above are easier with the right tools. That means updating our databases each year, conducting voter research, and more.
Early fundraising is critical for building campaign infrastructure, developing strategies, fostering community engagement, and positioning our campaign for future success. Will you make a contribution and help us make these things possible?
By laying a strong foundation, our team will be ready to hit the campaign trail and reach every voter in Oregon's First Congressional District.
More soon,
Ellie
