Folks,
Republican attorneys general are trying to gain access to private health records in order to criminalize folks for receiving reproductive care.
Our grantees work year-round to ensure folks living in the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains have safe and quality access to reproductive health care — and that they’ll vote these extreme AGs out of office. Before we explain further, can you support our work by pitching in today?
Here’s what’s happening: Two attorneys general from our target states, Mississippi AG Lynn Fitch — who helped end Roe v. Wade — and Alabama AG Steve Marshall, are working with 17 other Republican AGs to reverse the federal rule (HIPAA) that prevents them from accessing private health care data.
This is because they want to prosecute folks who travel out of state in order to safely and legally access reproductive health care services.
To put it plainly: These Republicans are trying to breach your privacy, scrutinize your personal health care decisions, and criminalize you for receiving safe and legal care.
It’s an insane reality we live in right now, but it doesn’t have to be this way. We have the opportunity to defeat AG Lynn Fitch, who played a key role in the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe, THIS November, and your support is crucial to stopping her.
Can you pitch in $10 today to support our grantees who are on the front lines fighting for reproductive rights and working to register and mobilize voters ahead of this year’s election?
