Donald Trump and his brand of MAGA Republican is unlike any other political force seeking power in American history.
But is Donald Trump really a “fascist,” as some would claim? Or Is “authoritarian” an adequate label?
To really understand what drives this dangerous MAGA movement, we have to understand the differences between authoritarianism and fascism.
Both cast aside the ideals of democracy, but one is far worse than the other.

In this video, I talk about the five elements that define fascism and what makes it distinct from, and more dangerous than, authoritarianism. To fight these ideas, we need to be aware of what they are and how they fit together.
So, is Donald Trump an authoritarian, or is he a full-blown fascist?
Here’s a hint: you can generally identify fascists by their hate of the "other," vengeful nationalism, and repression of dissent.
