Friends, tomorrow evening we will conduct a Zoom at which there will be an explanation of the recently filed lawsuit challenging open primaries in Colorado. This Zoom is organized by CD3. There will be a short presentation about recruiting CU Regent candidates. But beyond that the Zoom will be devoted to the lawsuit. GOP supporters statewide are invited.
The experience at last weekend’s central committee meeting underscores the virtual impossibility of opting out of an open primary. This lawsuit is THE BEST CHANCE OF ELIMINATING OPEN PRIMARIES. If you oppose open primaries, you are encouraged to tune in and you are encouraged to donate. The lawsuit is being funded exclusively by individual contributions. No general funds of the state GOP are being used for this lawsuit. Success depends on every one of you who oppose open primaries. We appreciate that some support open primaries. We respect your right to that opinion. This Zoom is NOT a forum to debate the merits and demerits of open primaries. It is for the purpose of educating people on the lawsuit and encouraging financial support. Details are below:
The Colorado GOP just filed a lawsuit against the Secretary of State to eliminate the open primaries. You have an opportunity to learn what this lawsuit is about and how you can support it. Please join the Zoom meeting, where two important Colorado GOP topics will be discussed.
Senator Kevin Lundberg will explain the recently filed lawsuit in Colorado federal district court challenging the open primary law. Senator Lundberg will be joined by at least one lawyer who has been involved in crafting the case.
Current CU Regent Glen Gallegos representing the 3^rd Congressional District will discuss recruitment of candidates to fill his seat when he terms out in 2024;
Members of your county GOP central committees are invited to participate, as are others active in your county GOP organizations. Please pass this notification along to your membership.
