Dear John, I’ve tried to live by the rule that if you have nothing good to say about someone, you don’t say anything.
My opponent in the District 17 Senate race apparently has different values. She’d rather say bad things, even if they’re not true. Fortified by dollars from Glenn Youngkin, who’s desperate to get her elected, she’s attacking us everywhere she can.
The latest? That I’m soft on crime. Despite the fact that the safety of our community is - and always has been - one of my top priorities.
The best way to respond? With the #SpiritofService and by getting out the good news: We’re in a tied race, and we’ve gotten there by focusing on what our voters want. Not by negative campaigning.
