Dear John,
Thank you for being a part of the Autism Speaks family. Together we are sha=
ping a world where total acceptance of autistic people =E2=80=94 beyond sim=
ple awareness =E2=80=94 is the societal standard.
Our vision fuels and guides our organization every day. It is why we work n=
on-stop to support autistic job seekers, advocate for state and federal pol=
icies promoting inclusion and ensure our Autism Response Team is on-call to=
provide autistic individuals, families and caretakers with helpful informa=
tion and high quality, easy-to-use resources.
As the father of an autistic son, I am dedicated to helping create this inc=
lusive vision for future generations. And it is on us, as Autism Speaks and=
the broader community, to do all that we can to stand together for a world=
of difference and continue to engage more directly with the autistic commu=
nity.=E2=80=AF
John, I hope you enjoy reading our summer newsletter below, featuring inspi=

There are several ways to give through estate planning. It can be as simple=
as naming Autism Speaks as a beneficiary for your retirement plan or life =
insurance by filling out a form. Or it could include leaving a fixed amount=
or percentage of your estate in your will.
By leaving Autism Speaks a portion of your estate or other bequest, you mak=
e your intentions clear that you want your gift to continue the transformat=
ive work of our organization.

First-of-its kind, Autism by the Numbers

derstand and meet the needs of the autistic community.=E2=80=9D =E2=80=94 A=

Finding help for autistic people can be hard. States offer different resour=
ces. Information is often scattered online. To help autistic individuals an=
d their families find answers, Autism Speaks supported by Drexel University=
created Autism by the Numbers.
The Autism by the Numbers Dashboard centralizes autism data across the coun=
try. It shines a light on the systems that serve the community and the acce=
ssibility of supports and services. It=E2=80=99s organized by life stage an=
d covers topics from diagnosis to care to education to employment to policy=
. And it=E2=80=99s made for autistic individuals, families, researchers and=
advocates.

Your Contributions at Work: New Tool Kit for Autistic Adults
If you know an older person who has recently been diagnosed or thinks they =
might be autistic, Autism Speaks can help them and their families find answ=
ers.
The Adult Autism Diagnosis Tool Kit is a practical guide to finding a diagn=
osis, different therapies, legal protections, state and federal services an=
d more. This free Tool Kit was developed by autistic adults and our staff =
=E2=80=94 and supported by inclusion champions like you.

Your Contributions at Work: Clinician=C2=A0Guide
Children and adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and intellectual a=
nd developmental disabilities are at increased risk to engage in challengin=
g behaviors, with up to ten percent characterized as severe.
Autism Speaks assembled experts from universities and hospitals to create a=
guide for treatments, proposed recommendations and public policy prioritie=
s.

Autistic Researcher Unlocking Auditory Sensory Experiences
Patrick Dwyer is a Ph.D. candidate studying auditory processing in autistic=
people. An Autism Speaks grant, made possible by supporters like you, powe=
rs his research.
As an autistic child, Patrick had distressing sensory experiences but no la=
nguage to articulate them. It=E2=80=99s a challenge he hopes his research w=

autism.

Autism Speaks Walk is the world=E2=80=99s largest fundraising event support=

An inclusive vision for future generations
‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌   ‌

Dear John,
Thank you for being a part of the Autism Speaks family. Together we are shaping a world where total acceptance of autistic people — beyond simple awareness — is the societal standard.
Our vision fuels and guides our organization every day. It is why we work non-stop to support autistic job seekers, advocate for state and federal policies promoting inclusion and ensure our Autism Response Team is on-call to provide autistic individuals, families and caretakers with helpful information and high quality, easy-to-use resources.
As the father of an autistic son, I am dedicated to helping create this inclusive vision for future generations. And it is on us, as Autism Speaks and the broader community, to do all that we can to stand together for a world of difference and continue to engage more directly with the autistic community.
John, I hope you enjoy reading our summer newsletter below, featuring inspiring stories, innovative Tool Kits for your family and a special section about legacy giving, allowing you to support our mission for years to come. I can’t thank you enough for your enduring impact on our organization.
With warm regards,
Keith Wargo
President & CEO
Autism Speaks

There are several ways to give through estate planning. It can be as simple as naming Autism Speaks as a beneficiary for your retirement plan or life insurance by filling out a form. Or it could include leaving a fixed amount or percentage of your estate in your will.
By leaving Autism Speaks a portion of your estate or other bequest, you make your intentions clear that you want your gift to continue the transformative work of our organization.
Consult your financial advisor or our Autism Speaks philanthropy directors at (646)-385-8699, email us at [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] or visit [link removed] [[link removed]].
First-of-its kind, Autism by the Numbers
“Autism by the Numbers has the potential to transform the way we understand and meet the needs of the autistic community.” — Andy Shih, Autism Speaks Chief Science Officer
Finding help for autistic people can be hard. States offer different resources. Information is often scattered online. To help autistic individuals and their families find answers, Autism Speaks supported by Drexel University created Autism by the Numbers.
The Autism by the Numbers Dashboard centralizes autism data across the country. It shines a light on the systems that serve the community and the accessibility of supports and services. It’s organized by life stage and covers topics from diagnosis to care to education to employment to policy. And it’s made for autistic individuals, families, researchers and advocates.

Your Contributions at Work: New Tool Kit for Autistic Adults
If you know an older person who has recently been diagnosed or thinks they might be autistic, Autism Speaks can help them and their families find answers.
The Adult Autism Diagnosis Tool Kit is a practical guide to finding a diagnosis, different therapies, legal protections, state and federal services and more. This free Tool Kit was developed by autistic adults and our staff — and supported by inclusion champions like you.
To download the guide, visit autismspeaks.org/adulttoolkit [[link removed]].
Your Contributions at Work: Clinician Guide
Children and adults with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and intellectual and developmental disabilities are at increased risk to engage in challenging behaviors, with up to ten percent characterized as severe.
Autism Speaks assembled experts from universities and hospitals to create a guide for treatments, proposed recommendations and public policy priorities.
This guide is free on our website at autismspeaks.org/behaviors [[link removed]].
Profile in Potential
“Spreading awareness is…about how many opportunities kids will have later in life.”
That’s how Dylan C., a physics major who has autism, describes his inspiring advocacy for his community. While transition to college hasn’t always been easy, Dylan is forging his own path to success — and helping others with autism — with the support of his family and Autism Speaks.
Your generosity helps families like Dylan’s find the help and resources they need. To learn more, visit autismspeaks.org [[link removed]].
Autistic Researcher Unlocking Auditory Sensory Experiences
Patrick Dwyer is a Ph.D. candidate studying auditory processing in autistic people. An Autism Speaks grant, made possible by supporters like you, powers his research.
As an autistic child, Patrick had distressing sensory experiences but no language to articulate them. It’s a challenge he hopes his research will impact, improving the quality of life and mental health of people with autism.

Walk to Support People with Autism
Autism Speaks Walk is the world’s largest fundraising event supporting people with autism. The walk brings together people with autism and their parents, grandparents, siblings, friends and relatives for one common cause, to uplift the autism community and fund programs, services and innovations.
