If Boebert wins one more term, she will be entitled to a lifetime government pension courtesy the taxpayers. John, There is a lot on the line in this election: a wannabe-authoritarian who has been indicted on 78 different criminal counts seeking the highest office in the land; the future of our climate, and our communities that are most vulnerable to climate change; doing more to address gun violence; and basic constitutional rights under attack by an emboldened far Right. And then there is the problem of Lauren Boebert. While Boebert may not seem as important as many of the issues at stake in 2024, she actually is. If a person this toxic, this disconnected from their constituents, and this brazen can keep a grip on power, however loose, then it truly spells trouble for our democratic system. And here’s another consideration: if Boebert wins one more term, she will be entitled to a cushy government pension courtesy U.S. taxpayers. That’s right—Members of Congress who serve at least five years are eligible for a pension. However…if we do everything we can to defeat Boebert this election, she will fall just one year short of being eligible for that sweet, sweet congressional pension. So close! Yet so far. While it may pale in comparison to the big issues on the table, we encourage you to enjoy the schadenfreude of denying Boebert a taxpayer-funded pension just one year before she would be eligible. Can you donate $25 or more to help stop Boebert before she claims a government pension that we will all end up paying for? Boebert absolutely does not deserve a taxpayer-funded pension. We can stop her if we work together. -The Colorado Turnout Project Team The Colorado Turnout Project
