After launching a call for applications for the 2023 Waislitz Global Citizen Awards earlier this year to find innovators from around the world who are at the forefront of ending extreme poverty, we’re thrilled to announce the winners for each of the three award categories who are effecting change in their communities, and around the world.

The 2023 Waislitz Global Citizen Awards feature three awards with prize funding totaling $250,000 — and the winners are:

• Waislitz Global Citizen Award, $100,000: Peter Njeri, CEO, Mega Gas Alternative Energy, Nairobi, Kenya 
• The Waislitz Global Citizen Disruptor Award, $75,000: Esther Kimani, Founder & CEO, FarmerLifeline Technologies, Nairobi, Kenya
• The Waislitz Global Citizens’ Choice Award, $75,000: Oluwafunke Adeoye, Founder, Hope Behind Bars Africa, Abuja, Nigeria.
